Allison Meisner

I decided to join the N.O.V.A. Club during the 7Arts First Annual Open House in November 2019.

I had an interest in art as a child and took an oil painting class at a community center with artist Harold Ryan of Middleton. I have always been inspired by the works of Tom Forrestall, Alex Coleville and Robert Bateman.

I have always enjoyed painting animals and scenery, but believe that the greatest freedom of expression through art is abstract painting. I use a variety of mediums such as; acrylic, watercolor, oil, paper mache, mixed medium, pencils and soapstone carving.”

I have a diploma of Graphic Design and Illustration from Annapolis Valley Community College (NSCC) in Middleton. I also attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax to study fine art in oil painting, sculpture and art history.

I have been a member of the Artist Circle group for over 25 years and have exhibited paintings at the Margaretsville Art Shack for most of those years. I also exhibit paintings year round at Angie’s Family Restaurant in Middleton, NS.
