Anne Tilt
Fiber Artist
Meet Anne of Awkward Acres, your Nero-spicy, fabulously frugal, fiber artist. (She/Her) Anne comes from a 15 year career in various aspects of Theatre Production, 5 years at the Art Gallery of Hamilton as a Wedding and Event Coordinator, and a lifetime of making it happen with what she’s got.
Anne moved to West Dalhousie, NS in 2021 and lives with her family on their homestead, where she cares for her Silver Fox rabbits and grows materials to make with. Anne's practice is varied, including basket and flat weaving, sculpture, paper pulp painting and quilling, crocheting and sewing. She works mainly with natural materials foraged or grown and recycled treasures saved from the trash. This may be a more time consuming and sometimes difficult choice but it adds interest to the process and the end work. She enjoys dissecting new techniques and attempting them with what she has around. She also enjoys sharing and teaching those craft techniques through workshops and markets.
Anne believes art can be beautiful, functional, and green.
